Member of the Arthur Murray Mesa Team since: 2006
Dance Background: I grew up dancing. I come from a Hispanic family, so my sisters and I where always dancing, salsa, Cumbria, meringue. I’ve loved dancing my whole life!
What got you interested in a career in dancing?
I was lucky enough to start with Arthur Murray at a very young age. I knew this is what I wanted to do with my life as soon as I saw what a huge impact dancing has on all it touches. Seeing my students grow and blossom into the dancers and people they had always dreamed of becoming solidified that this is what I was meant to do.
Who is your most memorable student and why?
I’ve loved all of my students. To me, each person I’ve taught has had a special impact on me. The one person who has touched me the most deeply is Stu, he is an incredible person and I am honored to know him.
I love the ballroom dances the most, Foxtrot and Tango especially. But I have to say that anytime I hear a salsa rhythm I can’t help it, I’ve got to move!
Favorite Song or genre:
I love everything from Billie Holiday and the Ink Spots , to White Stripes, to George Strait…..I can’t live without music
I haven’t seen anything new lately, but Casablanca is my all time favorite
Hobbies or other interests?
I love fashion, movies, music, and spending time with the people I love
“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”
Favorite Bad Food:
I’m afraid I could live off of pizza 🙁
Who Inspires you and why?
The strong women in my life inspire to always be better than I was yesterday, and to try to become what I never thought I could be
